Hops/Scotch is a cocktail bar located inside the Main Street Marketplace in historic Downtown Doylestown. It’s built around a serious love of cocktails, offering everything from timeless classics and modern riffs to unique creations designed in-house by talented bartenders. The drinks are the clear centerpiece here, consistently executed with precision and creativity. The atmosphere, however, leans toward a collegiate energy; the place feels like a perpetual alumni mixer — fun if you’re in the mood for lively conversation, but not ideal if you’re seeking a more refined or intimate cocktail experience.

The food at Hops/Scotch comes from neighboring restaurants inside the Marketplace — Vernafern, Spuntino, and The Side Bar. This setup provides convenient variety, but the food is clearly secondary to the bar. The cocktails are where Hops/Scotch shines. Bartenders are knowledgeable, consistent, and invested in their craft, producing drinks that balance creativity with technical skill. A Mezcal Old-Fashioned, for example, was smooth and aromatic enough to linger in memory — easily one of the best drinks in recent experience.
